Developing field exploration and laboratory testing plans for geotechnical engineering investigations. Preparing proposals for geotechnical engineering services. Coordinating field investigations. Sampling and logging soils and rock during field investigations. Researching, engineering analysis, and preparing of geotechnical engineering reports. Tracking budgets and schedule to ensure project requirements are met. Reviewing foundation plans and grading plans for conformance with geotechnical engineering investigation reports. Collaborating with various other consultants including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, and construction managers. Understanding and working familiarity with computer programs and geotechnical engineering software and databases.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering with a major in Civil or Geotechnical or Interdisciplinary Engineering and two years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer or Staff Engineer or Assistant Staff Engineer. Bachelor’s degree earned prior to Master’s degree must be in Civil Engineering. U.S. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering earned prior to Master’s degree is acceptable.
